A Boy's Norfolk Suit with Leggings Circa 1865-1900

This popular boy's outfit was worn in the late 1800's and enjoyed a long popularity. Often the Norfolk suit was worn when riding, requiring long legging to protect the fabric. Later, shorter ones were worn underneath the trousers for dress and warmth. Suggested fabrics include: light wool, flannel, twills, heavy cottons & linens; the leggings were of suede-leather or matching suit fabric.
