DE 438   Raven

This pattern has been designed to fit Raven, an original doll by Donna Rubert. Our costume is representative of a native American costume, fashioned in the Blackfoot tribe style. We have incorporated a bird design throughout the costume, to represent the doll's name. Ultrasuede is used exclusively in this costume, and is wonderfully suited for use in applique. We chose a pale pink for our main fabric, and used a blue grey ultrasuede for the bird appliques. The fringe on the outfit is trimmed with silver (tin) cones which are both pretty to look at, and to hear, as they make a beautiful sound when the garment is moved. The gown is one piece, accented at the bodice and hem-line with the raven motif. Silver and pink glass pony beads, and black feathers are used extensively as additional trim. Gown is knee length, and also included are pat-terns and instructions for knee high moccasin boots, and braided headband. Instructions including special tips for working with ultrasuede are included. Sewing required to make this garment is very simple. The embellishments are fun, and also easy, although they require considerable time to complete.
