DE 412   Off to School

This pattern fits 18" dolls on chunky cloth bodies such as Connie Derek's "Natalie and Todd". Two outfits are included in this pattern, as our brave older brother is trying to coax a reluctant little sister to get ready for her first day at school.

Sister's outfit (View A) includes a dress fashioned from a small red plaid cotton blend. Sleeves are long and full, and gathered to cuffs. Skirt is full and gathered. Broadcloth resembling denim is used for the collar and cuffs. From the same "denim-look" fabric, a darling pinafore is made, featuring over the shoulder ruffles, and a full, tucked skirt which has pockets trimmed in plaid. Accents to pinafore include contrast topstitching, and both dress and pinafore feature heart shaped buttons. Matching panties are included.

Brother's outfit is coordinated to match View A. The same plaid as used in View A is used for his long sleeve shirt. His pants feature suspenders, and the pockets are lined with, and the bottom cuffs made from, the same plaid fabric as used for the shirt. Pants are fashioned from the same denim-look broadcloth as used for pinafore in view A. Buttons and top stitching accent this outfit.
