DE 409   Stephanie's Wedding Day

This pattern has been especially designed to fit Paulette Aprile's lovely creation, Stephanie. (28" cloth bodied doll). Stephanie is such a wonderful doll that I felt she needed an extra special costume pattern. The bridal ensemble shown here is a stunning creation, but one that even a novice can complete using the easy methods developed for this pattern, and at a cost affordable to all. The white iridescent satin gown features a sweetheart neckline. Sleeves are very full leg o'mutton. The entire bodice front is lavishly embellished with seed and oval pearls, and iridescent sequins applied to a rich re-embroidered lace. Matching trim is applied to both the full upper sleeve, and fitted lower sleeve, extending over the top of the hand. The skirt is full and features a medium length train. The bottom edge of the skirt is trimmed with scalloped lace, and the skirt center front features embellishments of re-embroidered lace, pearls and sequins. The Headdress/Veil is created from your selection of pearl sprays, silk flowers etc. readily available in the bridal section of your fabric store. The pouffed veil is from very fine bridal tulle. Pattern and instructions are also given for crinoline underskirt, pantaloons, and the traditional blue garter. Once again, fear not, it's SO much easier and faster than it looks even for the novice seamstress.

1-2 bottles Duncan "Scribbles" Fabric Paint (White) to make beaded appliques OR 1 tube of "Unique Stitch" if available. See note on beading appliques 15-20 pkgs. (120 count) 3 mm. pearls, more or less according to taste •

1-2 pkgs. (30 count) small teardrop pearls •

1 pkgs. clear iridescent sequins •

2-1/2 yds. 2" wide scalloped bridal trim for bottom of skirt •

6)1/2" wide white satin ribbon roses •

1/2 yd. netting 96" wide for veil •

1/4 yd. white broadcloth for slip waistband and pantaletts •

1/2 yd. 2" wide flat lace for pantaletts •

3/4 yds. Crinoline for slip

3-1/2 yds. 1/2" wide flat lace to trim slip, pantaletts •

Your choice of wired pearl sprays, leaves flowers etc. for headdress •
