DE 406   Cristina's Special Day

This pattern has been specially designed to fit Cristina, a beautiful 30" original doll whose mold is available thru the Doll Artworks. Patterns and instructions are included for pantaloons and slip, trimmed with tucks and wide lace. The dress features a fitted black bodice, which is trimmed with a fabric ruffle at the neckline, and ends in a point at the center waist. Full sleeves and skirt are fashioned from a polished cotton print, which has a black background and large cabbage rose print. Bodice is accented with a satin bow, from which hangs a small gold charm.

Cristina's coat is made in a beautiful wine velveteen, featuring a black velveteen peter-pan collar and a second large cape collar which is detachable. Both the cape collar and sleeves are trimmed with a scrolled soutache braid design. Coat is gathered at the waist, and bodice is finished with black buttons. Cristina's hat is a wonderful tam, made from matching wine velveteen, and black velveteen band, accented with a decorative button and feathers.

Dress:

3/8 yd. black velveteen for dress bodice

3/8 yd. black broadcloth for dress bodice lining

1/4 yd. 1/8" elastic

3/4 yd. polished cotton floral print for sleeves, skirt

1/4 yd. 1/2" wide ribbon for bow, and if desired, small charm to hang from bow

Pantaloons and Slip:

1 yd. cream cotton broadcloth for slip, pantaloons

1- 1/2 yd. 2 1/4" wide flat straight edged lace

1- 7/8 yds. 2 1/4" wide Hat lace edging

Coat and Hat:

1 -1/2 yds. Velveteen 45" wide for coat

3/8 yd. lining to match velveteen

1 pkg black soutache braid for trim

2 pkgs. lace seam binding to match velveteen

1/8 yd. black velvet for small coat collar and hat band

1/8 yd. black broadcloth for collar lining: OR if dress is made, enough yardage will be left from dress bodice for collar and hat band

3) 3/4" black buttons for coat front

1)1" decorative button for hat

7/8 yd. 1/4" wide black double face satin ribbon

3-4 small black feathers thread
