DE 401  Sunday Best Dress

This pattern is designed to fit our body pattern DE 400 which is very similar to the bodices used by many European Artists at this time. This dress is fashioned from a crisp voile fabric, which has a fine white floral print on a pale blue background. Dress lining is of blue taffeta. The large pointed "Bertha" style collar is created from white lace fabric, trimmed with white lace, edged with a fine white trim, and accented with an organdy flower and strings of small pearls. Sleeves are very full, and softly gathered into the drop waistline, which is accented with a sewn-in sash which ties in the front, slightly off center. Skirt is trimmed with a wide piece of white lace, which has been edged with two pieces of narrower lace. Underskirt is of blue taffeta. Pattern also includes tucked and lace trimmed pantaloons
