Bunnies are In!!!

In View A, our favorite "Bunny" is costumed in a darling blue and white stripe dress, which has a white peter-pan collar, and long full gathered sleeves. Over her dress, is a wonderful pinafore, which has darling bunnies parading across the bottom of the skirt. One of these bunnies was also used to create an applique for the bodice front. The fabric we chose is a Daisy Kingdom fabric, and this popular line is readily available at fine fabric stores. If you are unable to locate a suitable border print, consider creating your own by piecing together two different, coordinating prints. Otherwise, pinafore may be made from any print which coordinates with dress fabric, and a purchased applique may be used for bodice. (Carrying out the "Bunny" theme should be quite easy - I counted 28 different rabbit prints in the children's section of my local fabric store!!!) Striped pantaloons peek out from under Bunny's dress, and her curls are topped with a large striped bow attached to a headband.

In View B, Bunny is ready for the Easter parade in her soft pastel plaid dress. (Let her favorite Bunny snuggle in her pocket!) Dress features a large square collar, cut on the diagonal, and trimmed with a coordinating solid pink ruffle, and large pink bow. Sleeves are long and full, gathered at the wrist, and ending with solid pink ruffled cuff. Skirt is also trimmed with pink ruffles, as is her diagonal patch pocket. Pantaloons are from pink fabric. Excess fabric may be used to trim a purchased straw hat to finish ensemble.

1-1/4 yd. small stripe cotton broadcloth for dress, pantaloons, headband

1-1/4 yd. suitable border print for pinafore, OR if border print is not used, 3/4 yd. print broadcloth

1/8 yd. white broadcloth for collar

1/2 yd. 1/8" elastic for dress, pantaloons

1/2 yd. 1/4" elastic for pantaloons, headband

6 small snaps

Wonder-Under or glue stick to affix applique

1/4 yd. white ribbon 1/4" wide
